Even Jackie Kennedy Wanted White Teeth

I read an article in the Chicago Tribune that offered up an interesting anecdote – one of the designers who worked on the interior of the Kennedy White House would occasionally see Mrs. Kennedy coming out of the bathroom holding a bottle of Clorox. He said to her “There are people who can clean that bathroom for you.”  It turns out she wasn’t scrubbing out the basin – she explained that as much coffee and red wine as she drank, once a week she poured a capful of Clorox into a cup of water and attempted to re-whiten her teeth by rubbing the Clorox water over her teeth with a cotton swab!

Thankfully, the choice of whitening options today are less toxic. According to the cosmetic dentist in Manhattan who shared this small tale, Dr. Golub-Evans, “Peroxide is peroxide. Whether it’s in an over the counter solution or a professional strength gel, it’s the same primary ingredient—just in varying concentrations.” Dr. Golub-Evans should know – he counts Hugh Jackman, Usher, and Kim Cattrall among his celebrity patients. According to the good doctor, an over the counter remedy could eventually produce a level whitening similar to a professional therapy given enough patience, application of the treatment, and whitening time.

So which is more precious to you? Price, convenience or time? Thankfully, our wholesale options for professional strength whitening can give you the best of all three.

And on another front, we are talking to our first potential UK MedSpa this week, who is considering the possibility of private labeled whitening pens. Thirty-three percent carbamide peroxide gel (over the counter remedies provide 2-6 percent, and a much higher price tag) available through the brush tip of a cylinder small enough to fit in your purse or your jeans.

Who wouldn’t want a whitening advantage like that? I’m sure Jacqueline Kennedy would agree.
